To evaluate the damage extent of the widely used reinforced concrete shear wall structure with coupling beam dampers
a damage model for this type of structure was proposed and verified by low-frequency cyclic test results. The performance levels and the corresponding damage index range were also proposed in this paper.Seismic damage assessment of this type of structure was conducted through fragility curves obtained from incremental dynamic analysis. Results showed that the proposed damage model properly described the damage evolution of the structure;the performance levels and the corresponding damage index range properly summarized the damage grades;and the seismic fragility curves effectively assessed the damage extent under different earthquake intensities.Combined
this paper provides a reference for performance-based design of this new type of structure.
