Experimental Study on Correlation between Crack Width and Depth of Reinforced Concrete Beams
The emergence of cracks will significantly reduce the service life of beama.Crack width and depth are two main parameters of cracks
but the studies of the former is relatively mature and the latter is rare.In this paper
static loading tests were conducted on eight samples of reinforced concrete beams and the correlation betweenthewidth and depth of cracks due to the loads was studied. The influence of the concrete strength
the concrete cover thickness and the rebar diameter on the crack characteristics was investigated. The experimental results indicate that the development of the crack width in concrete beams is mainly related to the reinforcement ratio of steel bars. The splitting tensile strength has a certain impact on the cracking load. The correlation curve between crack width and depth is fitted
