The reliability of connecting joints is one of the key techniques in the application of buckling restrained braced frame structures.A finite element analysis model is established by using ABAQUS to connect the exterior joint of the structure. The development of cracks and deformations is studied
and the ultimate state and the failure mode are determined. Then the influence of axial compression ratio
reinforcement ratio
linear stiffness ratio of beam and column on the capacity and deformation performance of the joint are analyzed systemically. The study shows that the connection with appropriate design is shown to satisfy the strong connection/week beam requirement. The axial compression ratio has very small effect on the connection;linear stiffness ratio of beam and column has apparent effect on the elastic and inelastic behavior of the connection;the reinforcement ratio of beam has effect on the capacity and deformation performance
but also determines the failure modes of this joint.
