In order to effectively estimate the seismic performance of RC tall pier
53 real ground motion records were chosen to establish a record base
and three pier models with different natural period were established.The applicability of the intensity measure
which considers the higher modes for evaluating the seismic performance of the reinforced concrete pier was studied.The IDA curves and standard deviation including normal distribution and lognormal distribution can be obtained by using incremental dynamic analysis and statistical analysis
which can also derive standard deviation of response and log response of three models curves changing with intensity measure.The results show that proposed intensity measure can effectively estimate the seismic performance of tall pier
which can be an excellent foundation of further study of pier seismic performance estimation.
