Research on Failure Mode of Outang Landslide Using DDA Method
a typical large consequent bedding rockslide in Three Gorges Reservoir
is situated on the south bank of the Yangtze River at Anping Town in Fengjie County. The volume of Outang landslide is about 6.4×107 m3.In 2003
the 180
2
20mplatform at the front of the landslide was chosen as a new site of Anping Town
and protection engineering was implemented for shallow slide mass. But since October 2008
the deformations gradually emerged at pace with the first time of water storage in Three Gorges Reservoir. In 2013
the complete relocation of Anping Town was restarted by Fengjie County government. After investigating the physical characteristics
comp
osition and monitoring data of Outang landslide
the Discontinuous deformation analysis(DDA)method is used to simulate the deformations of the landslide in natural state and rainfall state
the failure mode is studied by analysing the velocity of blocks in representative positions. Results show that the whole landslide remain basically stable in two states. If the mechanical parameters of the frontal part further decreased
the possibility of landslide along the top of bed rock is little for the rock-layer is reversed at the front
while there is possibility that the landslide will occur along a new inner potential slip surface.
