Study on the Behavior of Fibered Fire Retardant Coatings for Steel Members Subjected to Cyclic and Fatigue Loads
experimental research is carried out to study the behavior of fibered fire retardant coatings on steel members subjected to cyclic and fatigue loads. The cantilever column is used in large-deformation cyclic-loading-test and simply supported beam is used in the fatigue test repectively. The development of the cracks and the failure model of the fire retardant coatings are obtained.Analysis of the results has been done. The experimental results of cyclic test show that the cracks are visible when the column specimen begins to yield at the bottom
and the cracks close up when load decreases. As the load increase
the cracks gradually develop. When local buckling occurs in the flange at the foot of the column
wide cracks occur in fire protection coating. In the fatigue test
micro cracks occur in the coating after 1
000
000 times cyclic loads.Finally
the steel beam collapses due to welding failure before the fall of coating from steel beam.Through the analysis of this test
the main factor in the development of the cracks in fibered fire retardant coatings has been found
and the behavior of fibered fire retardant coatings for steel members subjected to cyclic and fatigue loads has been tested.
