The fire in a large space building is usually localized and the peak temperature occurs in the fire plume. To conduct a preliminary evaluation of the structural behavior in fires
it is essential to obtain the plume centerline temperature. So far
a few of classic plume theory
such as Zukoski model
Heskestad model and McCaffrey model are widely used. However
Zukoski model and Heskestad model are valid only above the mean flame height. So they need to be amended in the flaming region. To determine the suitability of these calculating models
some pool fire experiments with fire power of 154.4kW and 903.2kW were carried out.At the same time
these models were used to evaluate the centerline temperature of small fire
medium fire and large fire.By analyzing the experimental data and the calculation results
a simple formula is recommended for determining the plume centerline temperature.
