The Cyclic Loading Tests on L-shaped Shear Wall with Single Row of Steel Bars and Inclined Reinforcements
In order to improve the seismic performance of shear walls of multi-story residential structures with single row of steel bars
part of the steel bars in the shear walls can be arranged in form of inclined reinforcement.The inclined reinforcements can improve the shear behavior of the shear wall
resulting in increasing the energy dissipation capacity of the shear wall.To know the effects of this reinforcement arrangement in L-shaped RC shear walls
two cyclic loading tests were conducted.The specimens included one L-shaped shear wall with single row of steel bars
and another with single row of steel bars and inclined reinforcements.The comparative analysis of load-bearing capacity
ductility
stiffness
hysteresis property
energy dissipation and failure mode between the two specimens was made.The results show that proper configuration of inclined reinforcements can significantly improve the load-bearing capacity
ductility and energy dissipation of L-shaped shear wall with single row steel bars
making it better to meet the requirements of seismic performance of multi-story residential structures.
