In order to study the sensitivity of factors which influence the stability of high liquid limit soil slope
the shear strength parameters under different water content of high liquid limit soil taken from slopes of Guang-Wu Expressway were measured by direct shear test
and strength reduction method was employed to study the sensitivity of stability of high liquid limit soil slope to the seven influencing factors including water content
slope degree
slope height and so on. The results of calculation indicate that the stability sensitivity of high liquid limit soil slope to influencing factors ranges from the large to small as follows: water content
slope degree
and slope height. The elastic modulus
poisson’s ratio
dilatancy angle
and the tensile strength have less impact on the stability of high liquid limit soil slope. When the water content comes to a certain value
the safety factor of a high liquid limit soil slope sharply decreases.In this case
the landslide will be easy to happen. The safety factor versus slope degree curve of high liquid limit soil slope has a straight line downward trend. But the safety factor versus slope height curve of high liquid limit soil slope shows a slightly upward concave parabola type of downward trend. The research results provide theoretical references for the design
construction and treatment of high liquid limit soil slopes.
