Stability Study for Yejiwei Tailings Dam Based on Coupling Analysis of Seepage-stress
Based on the coupling mechanism of seepage field and stress field
the stability study of Yejiwei Tailings Dam in Shizhuyuan is carried out.Firstly
the coupling effect of the seepage and stress is studied. Then the calculation schemes about the analysis on the coupling of seepage and stress as well as the body forces of seepage are proposed sequentially.A two-dimensional calculation model for seepage-stress coupling analysis is established. The seepage field
displacement field
stress field and yield zone are analyzed using the proposed model;the influence of various coupling relationships on the seepage and displacement field
equivalent concentrated forces of seepage and vertical displacement is studied ultimately. The results show that the tailings dam is stable under the current hydraulic conditions;the vertical displacement is the dominating component
and the observed dam suffers mostly from the horizontal seepage forces;stress concentration occurs at the top
the bottom and the foot of the dam;the coupling effect of seepage-stress can’t be ignored because the predicted seepage forces and horizontal displacement changes greatly in different coupling models and the principle stresses
shear stresses and vertical displacement are larger than those obtained in the uncoupled calculation model.
