Finite Element Analysis and Study on Performance of Sector Lead Viscoelastic Damper
Eighteen different configured sector lead viscoelastic dampers(SLVD) were designed and analyzed through finite element software ABAQUS.The influence of configurations
such as the amount & diameter of lead cores
the arrangement form of lead cores
the shear modulus of rubber
the thickness ratio of thin steel & rubber layer and strain amplitudes of loading
on performance of energy dissipation and the damping characteristics was studied. The analysis results show that the energy dissipation coefficient and the equivalent damping ratio of SLVD increase with the growth of the amount & diameter of lead cores
but reduce with the increase of the shear modulus of rubber and the strain amplitudes of loading. The form of double lead cores is the best arrangement mode. The thickness ratio of thin steel & rubber layer should be controlled in the range of 0.4~0.5.
