The Comparison of Tensile Strength after High Temperature of BFRP Sheets and CFRP Sheets
The BFRP sheets and CFRP sheets with and without the impregnating by epoxy resin are taken as the objects to study their tensile performance after high temperature. The test results show that the tensile strength and modulus of BFRP sheets are far less than those of CFRP sheets both at room temperature and after high temperature
while the elongation of BFRP sheets is generally larger than that of CFRP sheets. The tensile strength of FRP sheets can be improved obviously due to the existence of the epoxy resin at room temperature
but the effect is not obvious after high temperature
especially for the CFRP sheets. The changing regularities of tensile strength of the BFRP sheets and CFRP sheets with the temperature are comparable;there is a trend of drop-ascend-drop for the tensile strength with the increase of temperature
and the tensile strength gets its maximum value at about 150℃.When the temperature is higher than 200℃
the longer the treatment time is
the more the tensile strength and modulus of the FRP sheets decrease.
