New Ways and Methods to Improve the Seismic Performance of Frame Structures with Infilled Walls
the normal damage to frame structures with infilled walls in the earthquakes occurred in the recent years
including Jiujiang earthquake in Jiangxi Province
Yanjin earthquake in Yunnan Province
Pu’er earthquake in Yunnan province and Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan Province
are reviewed.The causes of damage are also investigated.On the basis of the causes of damage
some new ways and new methods
such as bundling infilled-walls
constructing the inferior frame
slotting filled walls
using energy dissipation flexible connection
constructing damping infilled-walls
installing beam-column joint dampers
are proposed to improve the seismic performance of frame structures with infilled walls on the thought of "strengthening the structures to resist strong motions" or "conquering the unyielding with the yielding".The methods advanced and their routes have certain reference value in the design and deve-loping of new seismic method for frame structures with infilled walls.
