The reinforced concrete beams strengthened by external bonding tend to fail by premature debonding besides flexural failure. Therefore
the high strength of FRP can not be used efficiently and the total failure of structures is possible. This paper proposes a new hybrid FRP anchorage technique which can prevent the debonding. The technique reforms the mechanical fastening system by using capping plates and threaded rods.In the experiment
a total of 11 specimens are prepared. The efficiency of the technique and the influences on strain and interfacial shear stress are discussed. The experimental results show that the technique can limit debonding
increase utility ratio of FRP tensile strength and enhance the interfacial bonding strength between FRP and reinforced concrete beams. The technique is very promising in practical application.
