the structure test projects have been developed sharply and widely.Therefore
it is worth of research that how to use such valuable test and appraisal results more effectively.Based on the tests of different periods(every decade) for a historic building(Franklin Ray Hall) in Shanghai University that was built at the end of 1940s
the paper analyzes the variation of construction materials
components performance
structure security and etc during its in-service process and the major reasons that result in damage of structure members.The appraisal results show that the construction integrity is in good shape and can meet the demands of historic building protection as well as structure resistant capacity.In addition
the component time-dependent security of the building is also analyzed
which provides support for reasonable reinforcement measures.
