The bead-treated lightweight soil made from dredged sludge is a new kind of geo-materials with light density and high undrained shear strength. It can be used widely in civil engineering
highway engineering
etc.In this study
the dredged sludge of Baima Lake
beads and cement(32.5#) are used to make the mix proportion researches
and two key parameters of the lightweight soil(the density and the unconfined strength) at different cement dosages
EPS volume dosages and curing periods are discussed. The results show that the density of the lightweight soils is mainly influenced by the EPS volume dosage
while the strength is influenced by all the factors including the cement dosage
EPS volume dosage and curing period. It is emphasized that the relation between the strength and the cement dosage and curing period is similar to the common cemented soils
and there is a threshold of EPS volume dosage for the strength.
