Meteorological studies indicate that the strong wind loads affecting the Runyang Suspension Bridge(RSB) include mainly typhoons in summer and northern winds in winter.Two anemometers installed in the structural healthy monitoring system(SHMS) of RSB have recorded plenty of strong wind samples for about three years since operation of the bridge.After analyzing the measurement data recorded from 13:00 10

we have induced some strong northern wind characteristics relating the wind speed and direction
the turbulence intensity
the turbulence integral scale and the power spectrum
etc.It has been found that the northern wind speed and direction are stable and the turbulence power spectrum in wind direction coincides well with the Kaimal spectrum
