With the rapid increase of comprehensive exploitation of ground and underground engineering
the conflict between ground building and underground engineering and the corresponding disasters are becoming more and more obvious
which has been widely concerned. For instance
the deformation and failure of foundation with caverns including the digging holes in ground and construction after digging holes have become an urgent and troublesome issue. In this paper
a case study is presented
in which the commercial FEM software ABAQUS combined with strength reduction factor approach and loading coefficient method is employed to simulate the failure process and analyze the overall stability of soil cave ground under building loads.Furthermore
numerical computation considering different ground loading modes and tunneling depths is carried out to investigate the stability of construction after digging of holes.Various curves are obtained and some laws are discussed to offer references for the pertinent engineering constructions and disaster prevention and mitigation in underground engineering.
