Geogrids with good engineering properties have been widely used in Geogrids-reinforced earth structures.However
the reinforcing ability of geogrids in silt is not satisfied.Series of comparative pullout tests to investigate the pullout resistance behavior of geogrids in silt mixing crushed stone are conducted in the laboratory under different normal stresses and crushed stone contents.By analyzing experimental data
some conclusions can be drawn that increasing normal loads on silt does not help in raising interface shear resistance
and that adding some large grains of debris in slit can strengthen the passive resistance force of the transverse ribs of geogrids
but reduce the integrated pullout resistance force of geogrids when subjected to low normal loads.The ultimate pullout force can be greatly enhanced by increasing normal stress to restrain soil dilatability.The experimental data is of reference value for design of geogrids-reinforced earth structure.
