The time distribution of landslides is a key subject for research of their prediction and forewarning. The study of regularity of time distribution of landslides in a particular area can provide a guide for the prediction and forewarning of landslides in that area.In this paper
landslides in the Three Gorge Reservoir have been considered to study the similarities of their yearly and monthly distributions. The study has shown that the time distribution of landslides in different time scales are well similar
and the closer the spatial scales of landslides are
the higher the similarity of their time distribution. The study can offer a theoretical foundation for further research on the regularity of time distribution of areal landslides with the fractal theory.
