Abstract
The structural characteristics of a new-typed yielding anchor bolt used for supporting roadway in soft rock are introduced in this paper. Some dragging tests are carried out to analyze deformation performance of the yielding anchor stock with special structure. Based on variations of surrounding rock stresses resulted by the excavation of roadway and the relations of anchoring force and deformation of surrounding rock
the coordinated common action between yielding anchor stock and surrounding rock
the supporting mechanisms of the yielding anchor stock are discussed. Eventually
the relationship of yielding distance and supporting strength is given in terms of combined arch theory.
