Seismic Analysis of Connections with Vertical Stiffener between the Concrete-filled Square Tubular Column and Steel Beam
Based on the experiments of concrete-filled square tubular column connections with vertical stiffener under cyclic loading
3D nonlinear finite element models are used to analyze the mechanical properties of connections using ANSYS. Based on appropriate material stress-strain relations and failure criteria
seismic resistance of connections under cyclic loading is analyzed. It is found that the load-displacement curves and skeleton curves by finite element models analyses show good agreement with those of the experiments. The failure and plastic hinge appear on the beam end and the local buckling appears near the section of the variety beam flange. These also agree well with experimental results.
