the focal point of which was at a depth of only 5 km. Due to the impact of the earthquake

most of local buildings and structures suffered damage to varying degrees. Based on the field investigation

the intensity distribution and destruction grade in disaster area were introduced

the seismic damage of construction were investigated

which usually contained earth-timber structure

brick-timber structure

brick-concrete structure and frame structure. Meanwhile

failure of critical infrastructure such as water supply and drainage system

transportation system

electric power system

communication system and hydraulic engineering were also summarized

and the possible causes of various damages to construction and infrastructure were analyzed in terms of different categories. Finally

the characteristics of the damage in this event were concluded

several suggestions for future earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation in village and town were made in this paper.
