The landslide in fill slopes at Sau Mau Ping in Hong Kong

which occurred after about fifteen hours of abnormally heavy rains

is briefly introduced. The detailed investigation and study were made by a specific committee organized by the government of Hong Kong. The related investigation results and conclusions for the causes of the landslide and recommendations on reinforcement and improvement measures given by the committee are presented.
