In order to explore the relationship between the prestressed reinforced concrete acoustic emissions(AE)signal characteristic parameters and their damage evolution
the correlation dimension evolution trend characteristics of AE signal parameter sequence during the flexural failure of the prestressed reinforced concrete are analyzed on the basis of the fractal theory. The results show that in the process of bending failure
acoustic emission signal energy parameter sequence has obvious fractal characters at a scale.AE process has different degrees of self-similarity under different loading conditions
so the mechanical state of prestressed reinforced concrete beam structure can be described by the correlation dimension. The poly-line decline of correlation dimension of AE signal energy parameters means the appearance of damage or the development of damage. The correlation dimension turns horizontal after falling trend. This can be regarded as a signal that the prestressed reinforced concrete beam structure will have the ultimate bearing capacity. It gives the theoretical basis and methods for health monitoring and nondestructive testing of prestressed concrete beam structure.
