The traditional adobe wall bearing dwellings often suffer severe damage and even collapse during earthquake due to the material defects
rough construction and lack of details of seismic design and so on.The construction of The beautiful countryside is widely implemented in the country now
so it is necessary to reinforce this kind of building.According to earthquake damage characteristics
this paper puts forward the following reinforcement measures. In order to constraint the adobe walls and reinforce the overall seismic performance of the building
both inside and outside the wall we set up the horizontal and vertical reinforced thin mortar to form the grid reinforcement mesh.In order to verify the effectiveness of the above measures
1/2 scale building reinforcement model of monolayer and single bay was made and shaking table seismic simulation test was carried out.The shaking table test results show grid reinforcement mesh effectively restrains the emergence and development of cracks under frequently occurring earthquakes. The wall cracks are more under the seldom occurring earthquake
but adobe hasn’t the phenomenon of peeling off due to the better constraint. The maximum displacement angle of the model is 1/195 under the seldom occurring earthquake with intensity 8.The reinforcement model can attain the design goal
which is "intact under the frequently occurring earthquakes
repairable under the moderate earthquakes
and don’t be collapsed under the seldom occurring earthquakes".
