Taking the immersed tube tunnel segment in HongKong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge-tunnel project as an example
the three-dimensional finite element model of partial segment of the tunnel was built. The Software Abaqus was adopted in the dynamic computation. The initial stress equilibrium of soil mass and the effect of radiation damping were taken into account. The applying inertia force by earthquake movement were considered. The stress and displacement of the tube segment and joint part were analyzed. The results show that
under the combined effects of horizontal and vertical earthquake excitation
the vertical displacements of the tube segments are much greater than the horizontal displacements. The tube segment elements near joints have greater stress by reason that the material at the joints is easy to concentrate stress. These results may give a reference to similar projects.
