Using the case of 32# multi-purpose berth in Jing-Tang port area
according to the prototype observation test in situ
the representative sections were selected and simplified
the corresponding two-dimensional model was established and calculated by use of the finite element software ABAQUS.Then a simulative method for the excavating process of covered sheet pile wharf was given.Comparison between the data of prototype observation and finite element simulation was carried out.The results show that:(1)If we do not consider the influences of residual head and loading
the numerical results close to those of the experimental prototype observation.This model can basically reflect the deformation characteristics of structure in the horizontal and vertical directions;(2)The comparison results also verify the rationality of the proposed excavation simulation method.
