As an innovative lateral force-resisting and energy-dissipating system
buckling-restraining slotted steel plate shear wall(BR-SSPSW)is composed of steel frame and infilled steel plate
which has some slots arranged in oblique direction and encasement of pre-casted RC cover plates on both sides.Formula for predicting the ultimate shear capacity is derived according to the typical collapse mechanism of the BR-SSPSW.A detailed ANSYS FEM parameter study is carried out to verify the theoretical formula.In the meantime
the hysteretic behavior of the BRSSPSW is investigated
and the result shows that its energy-dissipating capacity is improved significantly under the precondition of enough rigidity(means appropriate gap between two plates
and enough thickness of the concrete plate)concrete plates offer
and it has more stable energydissipating capability.
