Utilizing the plastic drain boards is an effective way to treat soft clay ground.In combination with the Binjiang highway project in Pukou area of Nanjing
a model in the Plaxis was built to simulate the effect of plastic drain boards treating the near-river soft ground in this article.Two common equivalent approaches of the plastic drain boards used in the calculation are simulating the plastic drain boards
with the drainage line model the Plaxis owns itself and
with sand well model.The calculation results of the two models were analyzed comparatively and compared with the actual monitoring results.According to the comparison of the dissipation of the super pore water pressure in the soft ground in two situations where the drain boards is activated and not
the article studies the effect of the drain boards in the process of dealing with the nearriver soft ground and it is shown that paving the drain boards can obviously accelerate the sedimentation and consolidation speed of the soft ground
