By conducting fire tests on an unstrengthened RC column and two reinforced concrete(RC) columns strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) sheets bonded with different types of adhesive

axial deformation and fire endurance of the columns are analyzed.The results indicate that: the CFRP sheets bonded with organic adhesive lose confinement effect when exposed to fire for several minutes
but the CFRP sheets bonded with inorganic adhesive can well give lateral pressure to internal concrete when exposed to fire for several tens of minutes;the RC column strengthened with CFRP sheets bonded with inorganic adhesive can obtain a fairly good fire endurance
which is 53.3% longer than that of RC column strengthened with CFRP sheets bonded with organic adhesive and almost equals to the fire endurance of unstrengthened RC column.
