Through standard fire tests on 5 reinforced concrete slabs
which are non-strengthened
strengthened with carbon fibre reinforced polymer(CFRP) by using organic or inorganic adhesives
protected with the fireproofing coating or not
respectively
the influences of adhesive type and the fireproofing coating on the failure modes
the displacement at the mid-span
the fire resistance limit
and so on
have been investigated.The experimental results show that the reinforced concrete slabs strengthened by inorganic adhesive-based FRP composites without fireproofing coating have good fire-resistant performance;the reinforced concrete slabs strengthened by organic adhesive-based FRP composites without fireproofing coating have bad fire-resistant performance;and the temperature of the CFRP composites in the strengthened system can be reduced effectively by using proper fireproofing measures
so that the bond strength between FRP and concrete can be guaranteed.
