The fire performances of concrete beams reinforced with GFRP rebar are present in this paper
and four simply supported beams are exposed to fire with ISO 834 standard heating curve.The design of these flexural beams is according to ACI 440.1R-06.The influences of different loading rates
concrete covers and anchorage modes are taken into account.Fire test results indicate that the crack depth of GFRP reinforced beams is deeper than steel reinforced beams
and more slight cracks even accompanied with concrete splitting appear at the bottom of beam due to GFRP rebar’ s larger transverse expansion.It is recommended that the application of J-hooks anchorage in the crowed end should be reduced if there is sufficient bond strength.Although the mechanical behavior of GFRP reinforced concrete beam degradation significant at elevate temperature
proper design of GFRP reinforced concrete members by limiting the minimum concrete cover and service load will meet the practical fire design requirements.
