3-D finite element model was established to calculate the mechanical performances and fire resistance of PEC columns exposed to standard ISO-834 fire. The calculated deformation curves and fire resistance of PEC columns were validated by the test results. The validated model was then been used to analysis the influence of related factors on fire resistance.Simplified calculation method was established based on the aforementioned parametric study. It can be seen from the research results that fire resistance of PEC columns without any insulation may not meet the demand of current provision. Essential factors related to fire resistance are load ratio
slenderness and circumference of column section. The simplified calculation method suggested in this paper can be used as a reference for fire resistance design of PEC columns.
