the constitutive model is adopted to simulate the mechanical properties of concrete material and members subjected to monotonic loading at different loading rates that migh

t be experienced during earthquakes.It is shown that

as the loading rate increases

the compressive strength and the slope of the descending portion of the stress-strain curve for concrete increase

the loading capability of reinforced concrete beam also increases.The simulation results agree well with the test results.The model can simulate the mainly dynamic properties of concrete

but there are still some problems.
