In order to estimate the load-carrying capacity of locally damaged Zhong-hua bridge
by using static experiment and damage test method we made sure that the main damage to the bridge is at the ribbon strips of prestressed T-beam.We built a finite element model of damaged ribbon strips by means of"birth ad death"method and proved the model is appropriate by comparing the numerical analysis results with experimental results.Finally
we strengthened the damaged bridge by strengthening concrete and steel plate welding and demonstrated the effectiveness of the strengthening method.
