This paper presents selection principle of the factors for assessing site-specific debris flow hazardousness
including determination of primary factors and selection of secondary factors.The study shows the function of chosen factors and their influences on the hazardousness.Consequently
the hazard assessment for site-specific debris flow was presented.Taking the Elang ravine where occurred a large debris flow in 2003 in Danba county of Sichuan province as a study case
with the newest method of multi-factor assessment for site-specific debris flow hazardousness
the present paper quantitatively assesses the debris flow hazardousness of the ravine
which indicates it is of high hazardousness.Finally
the differences of the theoretic and empirical calculation equations for site-specific debris flow hazardousness
and the technical difficulties and their measures in the assessment are discussed.
