Based on the field exploration and analysis of information

the distribution characteristic of debris flows along Xichang-Panzhihua Highway is outlined in this paper.Furthermore

regarding to actual examples of mitigation and prevention for debris flow

the paper brings up that the disclosure of some problems during the building of the highway of Xichang-Panzhihua is particularly representative throughout the current highway construction in the mountains areas of China.Finally

in consideration of spatial relationship between the highway and Chendu-Kunming railway

the paper brings up a methodology of control and prevention for debris flow in line with the successfully historic cases of debris flow along Chendu-Kunming railway

under the circumstances of Chendu-Kunming railway locations having places superior to the highway.
