The analysis and computation of the earthquake response of sliding base-isolation system could be simplified by inelastic response spectrum. Because superposition principle is not applicable for inelastic system with more parameters
the inelastic response spectrum is more complex. In this paper
through the transformation of the dynamic equations of the sliding base isolation systems
the kinematic similarity of the system was studied. The research indicated that though superpositon principle is not applicable for the systems
by the kinematic similarity of the system
the responses of the system under an earthquake intensity could be obtained by multiplying the response spectrum established under another intensity with modifying coefficient. In theory
the modifying coefficient is absolutely precise. Using the kinematic similarity
the inclastic response spectrum of base isolation system can be greatly simplifiedr.
