The process of mineral resources mining and underground water pumping will cause ground subsidence. Ground subsidence disaster caused by mineral resources mining is the most serious kind of geologic hazard in all kinds of engineering subsidence disaster. The result of ground subsidence and deformation is that a good deal of ground surface buildings will be damaged. It is an important project to accurately e- valuate those damaged buildings for mining subsidence control and other engineering collapse repairing. This paper applies the theory and method of extenics in this research area. Based on the extensive set transform method and independent function analysis

the classical field matter-elements and segment field matter-elements have been given. A matter-element model to evaluate damaged buildings in subsidence area has been presented. This method is verified clearly through the practical example

and the use steps are demonstrated. Shown by this practical example

the model is accurate and logical in evaluating the degree of buildings’ damage in ground subsidence area. It offers a new scientific method for proejccts in this area.
